We want to discuss difficult themes that appear in the Book of Esther, like the fact that Vashti was commanded to parade naked in front of the King's guest and lost her throne because she refused. And while the often glossed-over story calls it a "beauty contest," the truth is that Esther was forcibly taken into the position she ended up in.  

We want to discuss these pieces of the story and bring some light to them instead of shying away with humor from uncomfortable truths of the story we read each year.
