Our Vision
We are Congregation Har HaShem.
We create meaning in our lives…through Jewish practice.
We celebrate together and lift each other when we have fallen
גמילות חסדים – g’milut chasadim - acts of generosity and kindness
We are inspired to realize our human potential
בצלם אלוהים – b’tzelem Elohim - in the image of the divine
We work to make the world more just
צדק צדק תרדוף – tzedek, tzedek tirdof - justice, justice shall you pursue
We are:
A CARING COMMUNITY
A hot meal. A shoulder to lean on. A hearty mazal tov! No one celebrates or suffers alone at Har HaShem. We look out for and support one another.
A SPIRITUAL CENTER
Joyful song. Vibrant discussion. Quiet reflection. Here, ancient traditions are revitalized and reaffirmed. We seek a connection to the holy, however we imagine that.
A PLACE TO GROW
Spiritual Text. Practice. Pursuit. We learn together and individually, wherever we are, and at any age. Grow with us. Embrace and share your Torah. We inspire one another by our actions and examples.
A VOICE FOR JUSTICE
Compassion. Advocacy. Action. We take on pressing issues: poverty, the environment, and human rights. We partner with others in the community to make positive change in the world.
AN OPEN TENT
A warm greeting. Open arms. No judgment. We welcome diversity of ability, background, race, color, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion and political belief. We celebrate the strength and support the need in everyone.
A GATHERING PLACE
A family room. A sanctuary. A mountain view. Our campus integrates, respects, and reflects the beauty that surrounds us--indoors and out. It is the place for spontaneous and planned gatherings.
A PART OF A PEOPLE
We are committed to the vitality, peace and well-being of the Jewish people, here at home, in Israel, and around the world.
