Come Together: Finding Support in These Challenging Times

With recent world events affecting us all, Har HaShem is pleased to offer a weekly support group. This free group is open to members of Har HaShem and appropriate for ages 15+. We will offer a safe space to discuss, listen, support and engage with community members. Additionally, we will discuss how trauma impacts us, practical self care, and coping strategies. Refuat HaNefesh Spiritual Support Group

A safe and loving place where people with mental health challenges, their families, and friends can meet confidentially and discuss how spiritual life and faith can help them to heal.

  • First and Third Tuesdays of every month at 6:30pm, facilitated by Rabbi Deborah Bronstein and Dr. Jed Shapiro

Community as Family

Share  experiences and enhance our relationships.  If you are a congregant, approximately sixty years old or older, interested in social-emotional support, information about aging issues, and possibly aging alone, Community as Family is for you. We are a monthly drop-in, welcoming, inclusive support group committed to creating and strengthening positive connections within the elders of our synagogue. We encourage consistent participation in order to maintain emotional trust. Periodically, we bring a speaker to the larger Har HaShem membership on topics of relevance to our aging population.

For more information, please contact  Harriet Edelstein.

  • Fourth Monday of each month from 11:00am-12:30pm

Chronic Health Conditions Support Group

We seek to foster connection between community members experiencing chronic health conditions, illness, pain, and disability by providing a safe and compassionate space where participants feel seen and heard. We strive to help members find hope and healing despite the burden of chronic illness, pain, and disability. We will provide an opportunity to share your experience and learn from others facing similar challenges. This group will provide participants with useful information, emotional support, and hopefully will reduce feelings of social isolation. This support group is co-sponsored by Bonai Shalom and JFS Jewish Disabilities Advocates.

Contact Max Weiner, the organizer, to learn more and to get the Zoom link.
