Community Film Screening & Discussion: October 8th

Join us at Congregation Har HaShem for a thought-provoking screening of the film October 8th, followed by a guided discussion. This powerful film explores the explosion of antisemitism after the attacks of October 7th, and takes a deep dive into the systems that had existed beforehand that made such an explosion possible.

After the screening, stay for an engaging discussion, where we’ll dive deeper into the questions raised by the film. The conversation will be guided by Samara Schwartz, Director of Lifelong Learning, to ensure a rich, open discussion. This event is open to teens and adults, making it a great opportunity for families and individuals to come together, share insights, and explore important topics.

OCTOBER 8 offers a look at the explosion of antisemitism on college campuses, social media and in the streets of America beginning the day after the October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas. Through meticulous investigation, the film also uncovers how over decades, Hamas created sophisticated networks in America to permeate U.S. institutions and examines the tsunami of online antisemitism, propaganda, and disinformation unleashed by Iran, China and Russia – with the sole purpose of dividing American society.
