This is the first meeting of the Green Team, which will be held on Feb 5th from 6:15-7:45 pm at Har HaShem. You are not making a long-term commitment or joining a new committee or team by attending! We hope you will join us for this one meeting so we can learn and share with one another all the “green” activities happening within our community. If you decide to stay after that, we welcome you! The Purpose of the Green Team is as follows: Serve a coordinating and clearinghouse function where individuals involved in congregation environmental activities can share information, enthusiasm and support for each other's independent environmental projects, both those within and outside of the congregation. This includes existing activities that fall under the umbrella of environmental sustainability (e.g. climate advocacy, education, building improvements, Spirituality and the Environment Symposium, food policy, etc). Create a space where synergies and new environmental activities could organically evolve. Help to more loudly promote and communicate all of HHS's existing environmental activities to the membership. Help coordinate internally (e.g. across committees and with synagogue staff) and externally (e.g. partner work with other congregations) to help support the larger work of environmental sustainability and avoid redundancies. Meet quarterly with sustainably minded friends in the Congregation.
