Introduction to Jewish Meditation

The workshop will begin with a presentation exploring and addressing:

  1.  Why is meditation helpful?
  2. What is Jewish meditation? What is Jewish about meditation?
  3. How do I meditate?
    ​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​Meditation instruction will be offered, and participants will practice different meditations. Participants will leave with resources to take home. This workshop is open to experienced and beginning meditators. Registration is required because space is limited.

Led by Rabbi Ruth Gelfarb who has studied at Nepal's Pokhara Buddhist Meditation Center and completed a two-year training program at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality under the tutelage of Rabbi Sheila Weinberg.

Co-led by Jeff Tatelman, a 20+ year Har HaShem member, who is an alumnus of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Tikkun Middot project, and a mindfulness practitioner.
