Our Torah and tradition are filled with many many stories of men.  But what about the women? How does Eve experience Abel’s murder? What about Miriam’s place in her brother’s infancy and giving him up? And Hamen’s wife! Now that is a story.  Wait, you don’t remember his wife? Exactly!  She must exist - we know all his son’s die in the end, but is she just sitting at home twiddling her thumbs?

Find out in this 3 session class in which we’ll explore the voices of women amplified by the rabbis and contemporary writers of midrash (stories that fill in the gaps we find in our sacred texts).

This class is free. In advance of the first class please purchase After Abel and Other stories by Michal Lemberger.  You don’t need to read the book prior to the first class, but chapters will be assigned for the 2nd and 3rd class.
