Since October 7th, the world’s attention has turned to Israel with renewed intensity—its history, its people, and the resilience that defines the nation. This Yom Ha’atzmaut, we invite you to experience Israel through the eyes of its people with a stunning exhibit of 30 images from Humans of Israel, Humans of October 7th, and Rebuilding Israel. These profoundly moving photographs capture the country’s diversity, multiculturalism, and the unwavering strength of its people.

Erez Kaganovitz is the human behind “Humans of Tel Aviv”. Erez studied Journalism and International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He worked as a journalist on Channel 2 and I24news (both based in Israel) and as a parliamentary adviser for several members of the Knesset.
He started taking pictures earnestly, and his passion for photography in India on the banks of the Ganges River. Every moment was an opportunity to learn how to tell an entire story in just one frame.
In 2009, he moved to Tel Aviv. The vibrancy gave Erez the feeling that he had just stumbled onto the set of a movie and that every character in the city had his or her own story, attitude, and unique perspective just waiting to be uncovered. He started posting the pictures and stories to his own Facebook account. In 2012, he stumbled upon the amazing “Humans of New York” project. 24 hours later, he decided to open his own Humans of page. Since then, he has taken more than one thousand portraits and stories.
